1995 Chevy Beretta stalls in drive, runs fine in reverse

our car runs fine in reverser; however, as soon as we put it in any drive position it stalls & sputters.

Try Unplugging the Transmission solinoid sensor which engagues the overdrive gear this should solve your problem, but you will not have overdrive gear and the car will have poor fuel mileage till you replace the solinoid which is located at the front (nose) driver side (left) transmission. hope this helps you.
