I have a '95 Beretta, 3.1V6. Yesterday the battery light was flickering on and off and then it would stay off so I brought it to test the battery. There was nothing wrong with the battery. So I let it go for another day and today I drove to work and the light stayed off but on my way home the light flickered and stayed on this time. So I would assume its the Altenator. My question is, I was told that it could be the voltage regulator which would be a lot cheaper to replace should I do that or should I just replace the whole altenator? Is there a way to test the voltage regulator.

If you have a volt meter see what voltage it is putting out, should be around 14 volts or You can take the alternator to a parts store and they can test it for you, the regulator is built into the alternator
