1989 Chevy Beretta 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual

1989 Beretta 2.0 FI. Brand new fuel pump/filter/strainer. The pump is still cutting in and out when vehicle is running. I hot wired the pump and it pumped strong for a long time. Is it a sensor?

Check for any applicable trouble codes. Check the circuits at the fuel pump relay. Check the ecm fuse, should be close to fuel pump relay at firewall. The fuse is location C4. Not only check the fuse, check for voltage going to the fuse.

So I put a new fuel pump relay in and still not working correctly, next I will try your idea cause it makes perfect sense. Now, if the computer is sending a fault that is cutting off the pump, do you think after putting the new pump in I should have to reset the computer?

Any voltage at the fuse I mentioned? You shouldn't have to reset anything.
