Have a '57 with a crate engine, accel electronic distributor, and coil. Every once in a while it will fail to start due to no fire at plugs. Have checked and can find no lose ar broken wires. It has always eventually started with me having done nothing to help. Does anyone have suggestions on where to start looking?

Check for corrosion on all wiring conections. Sometimes the after market ignition systems will fail intermintantly, mainly when they get hot.

Check the coil, accel had problems with there coils at one time. They would short out from overheating.
