I have a 1955 belair 235 with 54,000 ORIGINAL miles (family owned since '55). Can you tell me how to remove and replace the freeze plugs. One of them has cracked. The car has not been started in many years and am checking and repairing all immediate problems before attempting to start it. Thank you.

Use a punch and pliers to pull it out, there is a tool for installing the plugs, Autozone might have it for rental, when you return the tool, you get all your money back. Use a fine emory cloth and try and get all the corrosion off the block, without distorting the hole. Then use aviation cement on the new plugs.
