2007 Chevy Aveo Crack oil pump

Engine light came on. Stopped and found oil leak under car. Put in two quarts of oil, got home and put in another quart of oil. Turned engine back on and noticed oil leaking.
Dealer said oil pump seal bad. Turns out the oil pump was cracked.
Under warranty.

Is this a current problem with this model engine/car?

Dealer said that some complaints were received by Chevy about an oil pump seal leaking but nothing about a cracked oil pump. Mileage on auto was 9553.

This is a prime example of why getting a new car and new car payments are not always the road to happiness. The only thing gaurenteed is the higher cost.
