The hold light flashes then the air conditioning stop working. If we unplug the battery for a few minutes then plug back up everything resets and works for a few days then does it again.

This problem has nothing to do with the ac. If any sensors stop working on engine the computer shuts off a.c. and flashes HOLD light. The hold light flashing is the issue which usually means the turbine speed sensor needs to be replaced.

To be sure lets run the codes

Here is a video showing the job being done with a diagrams BELOW to show you the location on your car.

What does the Hold Light indicate when it is on but not flashing, and what is the purpose of the Hold Button on the shift console?

When you push the hold button the hold light comes on. When it is on then you can drive the auto transmission car like a standard and shift through the gears.

If the hold light comes on and is flashing then apparently you must take in in for service. This is what is going on w/my 06 right now that and the check engine light is on
