My Chevy Aveo is making a loud sputtering noise and yesterday after I had driven it for a 100 miles the oil light started to flicker in rhythm with the sputtering. A week ago I scraped a driveway that we think pinched the line that runs from the transmission, though I don't know what it is called, it is just a line that hangs low, but appears to have wires in it. My boyfriend says it has a tube in it too and it transfers transmission fluid. I noticed a large puddle of what we are pretty sure is transmission fluid under the car a day after I scraped it. And that same line seems to be where the leak was coming from. Today when I drove it the oil light did not come on until I came to a stop at a light and only while I was stopped, it went away when I pushed on the gas. Also when I press the gas pedal in slightly the sputtering gets worse and then when I push the pedal even further it is not as bad. I had heard a faint sputter when I pushed the gas pedal slightly over the last year, but no one else could hear it. Yesterday it also paused before actually shifting into gear and then it jerked forward (that happened twice) Hasn't done it today. I lifted the hood today and the sputtering was definitely coming from inside the engine. I will be taking it to a shop, but i'd like to get an idea of what I am in for and what to call around for on quotes.
