Engine not starting

Wife was driving the car. It cut out and died. When she went to start it. It would not turn the engine over. The starter will turn but the engine wont. I had the starter rebuilt. Put it on and it is still doing the same thing.

Im a little confused.. The starter is turning but the engine isnt? This is after it died while driving? I would try turning the engine with a socket on the crank bolt to see if it turns, you may have lost a timing belt and bent a valve causing the engine to not turn over
