Engine Performance problem
2004 Chevy Aveo 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 68000 miles

I was told when I purchased my 2004 Chevy Aveo that all oil changes must be done at a Chevy dealership because of some special washer or ring that had to be replaced with each oil change. They said this was necessary and if not done there could be oil leakage after changing the oil. I have never taken the car anywhere but to a dealer for an oil change but would really like to be able to take it anywhere I want to have this done. I have asked at my repair shop and quick oil change places but they said they are not aware of having to change a washer or ring with oil changes. Any help you could give me in this regard would be appreciated. Just don't want to be dependent on a dealer for my oil changes.
