Here is location, 3.5L engine. Give me a second and I'll give you the wire colors for connector, the wire colors should narrow it down for you. If trouble seeing top rear of engine use a mirror and flash light or drop light.

If anybody else has better ideas, jump in. No problem.

Thank you. That sensor was extremely difficult to get to. A mechanic tells me that they have had many malfunctions of that particular sensor on that particular engine. Again, thanks for your valuable assistance.

Hello,

The oil pressure sender is up at the rear of the engine at the rear of the intake manifold.

Here is a guide to help you see what I am talking about.

Check out the diagrams (Below)

Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

Cheers, Ken

Where it the oil sending unit.
What would cause the oil gauge to go all the way to the right, reading HIGH oil pressure.

For the past couple of weeks my oil pressure gauge has been stuck at 80 yesterday I drove on the interstate and whenever r.P.M. Got over 2000 the gauge would got to 0 then right back to 80. I stopped check oil level and payed close attention for knocking but everything sounds and runs good. This trip was about 140 miles round trip no problems. My question is does this sound like an oil sending sensor? If so where is this located-i have replaced these on older vehicles but am having trouble locating this one. Thanks for any information you can give

Hello -

Not sure if your model is the 1500 or 2500. . .. . .. . .this is from a 1500. . .. . .. . ...also. . ...you need to look at the 8th digit of your VIN. VIN letters V, T, U and G are all located on the top rear of the engine. . .. . .. . ...the only one I have a pic for is the VIN G, 8.1L. . .. . .. . ..

This may assist you in locating yours. . .. . .. . .. . .. . .

2003 Chevy Avalanche 5.3L Z71, 70K miles, Oil pressure gauge is reading 80psi when I turn to ON position, and 80psi when engine is running. Oil level is OK, and no unusual noises. Is the oil pressure sender bad? Where is it located on this engine?

The oil pressure sensor is located at the rear of the engine block next to the distributor on the drivers side.
