1996 Chevy Astro Ventilation seems stuck on defrost.

The air on my van will only blow through the defrost vents on top of the dash. The a/c works but only blows through the defrost vents. Its like there is a damper or diverter gate that is stuck sending the air only to the defrost vents. Does anyone know how to repair this?

You have a vacuum leak in the supply line from the reserve tank. Or the tank leaks. Look at #'s 2 & 3...

Merlin, you were right. I found a vacuum line broken in two. I repaired it and now I have air coming through my dash vents. Thanks for the tip. You are a real gem.
