1995 Chevy Astro 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

Hello, I have recently installed a new alternator and am working on replacing the serpentine belt. I have placed the new serpentine belt (ac unit size) and loosened up the tension pulley to snug it in. My problem now resorts to getting the tension pulley back into the designated notch hole it came out of. I have been cranking on it (pushing down with a pry bar) with no luck. Is there a easier way to do this or some type of trick to getting this new serpentine belt back on.

Thank you

Did you remove the tensionier? If so, remove the belt and reinstall the tensionier first. Then you can move the tensionier into a position to replace the belt.

Let me know if this helps or something different is going on for you.
