My engine light has come on and it states that the IAC valve is malfunctioning, I got code 35. I changed the iac valve today with a new duralast valve but my van is still running rough at idle and it seems lke its accelerating on its own. What can be the problem? I still get code 35. When I installed the IAC valve I thought it would all fix but nothing changed, rough idle still there, did I install it wrong was I supposed to do something to the IACbefore installing? Or maybe the MAP sensor is wrong or EGR valve is wrong which is causing IAC to malfunction! Please help! I dont know what may be the problem!

Their was a big chunk missing off my intake manifold gasket, I could not find the problem myself so I took it to a mechanic who checked it for me. We took the whole front compartment apart. We found the leak as alot of air was getting into the engine because the gasket was so used up it broke apart. My transmission feels so smooth and the engine is so calm an quiet now. Air leakage on an engine can be a big problem because it can damage your transmission and unfiltered air which would be getting into the engine. I was charged $400 to replace gasket but its worth it because they gave my intake manifold a professional hot steam wash using special cleansing oil and they cleaned the lower part of the intake manifold and replaced gasket!
My engine runs like never before and it has 170000. No oil burning and runs very powerful, like new! Maybe because I change my oil every 2500 miles. Thanks for those who tried to answer my question but did not know.
