1995 Chevy Astro EGR sensor

Would the egr sensor cause my truck to stall when it slows down and have a rough idle it was replaced when I bought the truck two years ago

Absolutely. Most common problem is that is not actually the valve bad but there is a humk of carbon holding it open. Remove valve and the piece of carbon will come out with a pick. Then clean carbon, there will be build up where the valve bolts onto intake.
