what is the name of the component in the top right position of the serpentine belt path? There is a knocking noise that accelerates and gets louder as I accelerate and it sounds like it might come from this component. At idle it is more of a muffled knocking.

Are you sure it is from there and not from the engine? You can check by removing the belt to see if the sound is still there. NOTE: If you remove the belt to check, do not run the engine longer than 8 to 10 seconds.

Mine does that. Its the ac compresser knocking. I tried adding oil but it got worse. Dont know how to fix it tho. Havent taken it anywhere for an ac check yet
