Check Hybrid System light has come on. I can still drive the car without any issues. No acceleration problems, no noises, no smoke, etc. I have heard you may need to replace the battery, but it's super expensive and I would like to avoid that if at all possible. Any tips on what is wrong/what I should do? Also, is it okay if I just continue to drive it normally? Thanks!

I can't say for sure what you need to do without knowing the codes in the system. Now there is a way to get a battery reconditioned and not replaced. Go to hybridshop. Com. It will help you locate an independent shop that is qualified to do the reconditioning. Typically the cost of this is about $1500-$2000 compared to $5000 new. Thats also saying that your battery is actually the issue. It can sometimes be the hybrid computer (ECU). (I am a prior highlander hybrid owner and current chevy volt owner).
