Hi! Quick question! I just replaced my VSS in my car. Before I did so, I had it checked by mechanic and he said that is what it was. Now after replacing and clearing check engine light, check engine light has came back on and diagnose still says VSS. Is there more than one VSS on my car?

Specifically, what is the code number? Because a code does not necessarily indicate a specific sensor, but indicates a problem somewhere on that circuit. It could be that there is a problem with your connector or somewhere else in the wiring.

That code is fort the engine speed sensor circuit, not the vehicle speed sensor. I will pull up more information on it in a bit.

According to Prodemand, the likely cause is that the distributor is leaking oil onto the ignition coil. Look for evidence of this leak. Replace both the distributor and the ignition coil.
