The charging system worked until I cleaned the bulkhead wires?

The reason for cleaning somethings works inside and others don't. I assume the mentioned bulkhead is the plastic block that connects to the firewall that wires pass through to the inside. I changed alternator and the voltage regulator, I believe they were OEM pretty rusty, but worked just fine.
Thanks, Charlie

It has to be a connection problem, I would recheck all grounds and power leads, also the voltage regulator needs to be tight and grounded well. Here is a guide that can help you test the system:

Please run down this guide and report back.

All connections seem good. Could it be the ballast. Horn relay?

You could have defective replacement parts; I would have them checked. We don't have any wiring diagrams for this car in AllData or Mitchell 1.
