Hi, I have a question about it. while you can see it have two hose one for tank and one for purge. The other one is for free air and it blocked from factory. my questions is, why as I know evap system need fresh air to breathe and I am wondering why mine is blocked with a piece of plastic that can remove. I see same models that have a filter and a canister close valve attached to this air hole with a hose but seems mine is different.

Good morning,

The evap system has to have a vent. It is there to allow air to escape while fueling and also keeps the tank from imploding while using fuel.

When the PCM does its own internal test to be sure the system has no leaks, it will close off the vented hose by a solenoid and test the system.

As far as the capped line, the canister may fit several different applications that use the nipple.

Do you have any codes or issues with the system?

Roy

What other cars did you see? Were they identical to yours?

Was your replaced in the past?

I see other Tiburon's charcoal in forums and as I said their canister has a canister close valve that attached where mine has blocked. I don't think the previous owner has been changed it. Its part number is 314203A000. Is there a function for this or just it blocked the air hole?
