Are there any consequences on the engine if I bypass the Catalytic converter?

Want to know if there are any consequences on the engine if I by-pass the Catalytic converter?

Hello,

A catalytic converter removal will not affect the engine mechanically, but the engine warning light will come on as the ECM will see a downstream oxygen sensor issue.

This then would require an ECM remap to stop the light from coming on.
Be aware that the vehicle will have higher emissions and might not pass an emissions test, depending on where you live.
