Car will not unlock?

My doors won’t unlock, I’ve tried the key fob... Won’t work. I replaced the battery in the key fob, (multiple times) I’ve tried using the key(manually), won’t work... Even though it turns fine both ways. I tried putting lube in the keyhole and I still get nothing... So, I wedged the door open and used an antenna to push the lock/unlock buttons on all the doors (didn’t work) and so I press the one under the radio, and I still get nothing from unlock, however when I press lock it makes a slight “locking sound” even though it’s already locked... After 2-3 hours of searching Google and YouTube... I’m praying you can help me. Because I’ve tried everything except the tennis ball and I really don’t understand or even want to attempt the tennis ball method...

Hi,

If it isn't responding, there is a chance the battery itself is weak. However, that doesn't explain why the key won't unlock it.

What I'm going to suggest is to get what is called a slim jim. It slides between the window and weather stripping at the bottom of the window. Take a look at the pic below.

I realize most people don't own one of these, but most automotive shops do. Maybe someone would lend one to you. Also, the police may open it using one if requested.

I'm not sure if auto parts stores offer them, but that is a possibility.

Let me know if this helps. Also, once you get into the vehicle, check the battery under the hood. I have a feeling that is what is causing the problem.
