I kept trying to get my oil changed but every filter I bought at Walmart said it didn’t fit. I know Walmart isn’t the best place but with my schedule it was the only place. One day I was driving and it shut off overheated started smoking and the oil dip stick pushed out and smoking out of it. I don’t know where the leak is, and the car won’t start up I tried putting more oil in there, but none was coming out and leaking. It won’t start but doesn’t make any weird noises. Only one is sounds like it’s firing but nothing happens I'm new so I'm not really sure could some help.

Hi,

I would be happy to help. If it is possible, record it cranking and upload it for me to hear.

Next, if they didn't have the correct filter, what was used? The vehicle has an internal canister filter and it's a common part. Volvo's OEM part number is 127581. See pic below.

As far as the filter, it is located at the bottom of the engine. See pic 2 below. Check if that is where the oil leaked from. Also, I have arrows pointing in the pic showing where the filter is placed and where the O-ring goes.

How low was the oil before you added to it?

Let me know. Also, I really need to hear the engine cranking to determine if there is possible internal damage. If the oil leaked from the filter causing internal damage, you will need to get in touch with Walmart.

Take care,

Joe
