I replaced all of the ignition parts, crank sensor, the main relay. Car starts sometimes, it has low spark. But we’ve noticed it seems to start when it’s cooler outside. It will turn over but won’t start. We even replaced the battery cable that runs to the transmission. We are in need of some answers. Thank you

Hi Tina,

When you say you replaced all the ignition parts, do you mind listing all of them so I can avoid recommending something you have already addressed?

Also, I suspect the weak spark as you mentioned is your ultimate issue but we need to rule out fuel. Can you spray some starting fluid in the intake and see if it starts?

Assuming the weak spark is the issue, the most likely reason it starts when it is cold outside is probably because of the low moisture when it is cold. When it is hot, the moisture is higher and this will effect your spark quality. However, even if you have some spark, I would expect this engine to start. It may run poorly but it should still start.

Let's start with using starting fluid and then get me a list of parts that you have replaced and we can go from there. Thanks

Thank you for responding back, looks like my husband informed you on the same issue. I wasn’t aware until after the fact. I’ll let him continue on.

Yes. I thought it was very ironic that I answered two questions of the same issue at the same time. But I guess anything is possible. I will keep working the other case. Please let me know what happens.

Thanks for using 2carPros.
