Car wont start

My 1987 305 tpi iroc will not start. It has been sitting in garage for over 3 years. When I hook up the battery, I hear a clicking sound but dont have good enough hearing to pinpoint its location. It turns over but will not fire at all. I do not even smell gas. I changed the fuel filter but no luck. Please help

Change every fluid in the car before starting. Remove the fuel tank, flush out the tank, replace the pump, blow out all lines.

Then you can try starting and hope the injectors are good. The ticking is the injectors.
