Car will not start

On occasion after the car has been driven for a period of time and parked it will not start upon returning. However, if I wait a couple of hours the vehicle will start. What is the cause of this random shut down and then restart after a waiting period?

Hello,

This could be a problem with your vehicle's Crankshaft Position Sensor (CKP) starting to fail. When a CKP sensor is starting to go bad, it exhibits exactly what you described in your question. I have included a few links below for you to go to:
