My car stall while driving about 30 minutes. Won’t go above 30 miles an hour. If you put gas in it or let it sit it works fine. Only happens when I’ve been driving a bit. Could really use some insight on what to do here.

Hi,

Is the check engine light staying on when the engine is running? If so, first we need to scan the computer for diagnostic trouble codes. Here is a quick video showing how it is done:

I realize most people don't own a scanner. However, most parts stores will do it free of charge or lend / rent a you a scanner. If the light is staying on, this needs done first.

Next, stalling when the engine is warm commonly indicates an issue with the crankshaft position sensor. Take a look through these two links:

Let me know if the vehicle symptoms seem to mirror the symptoms indicated in the second link.

Now, I'm not sure what you mean by only going 30 mph and it runs good when you put gas in it. When it runs good, will it drive over 30 or is that limit all the time?

Let me know.

Joe
