My Mitsubishi Eclipse GT shuts off right away when I release the gas peddle. This is how it started, "Yesterday evening, I started the vehicle without any problem. After 40 seconds as I shift the gear to drive, it stop the engine. I tried to start the vehicle again about 20x and from that point on it didn't want to start. My co-worker told me that it might be flooded. He recommend to keep the peddle all the way down without pumping and just keep turning the key. That is when it started again but this time it turns off if I let go the gas peddle to shift gears. Please help, Thanks!

Could be a bad idle air control valve. Try cleaning the throttle body and idle air control port with some throttle body cleaner to see if that helps. Check the intake tube for cracks or holes.
