I just recently installed the engine into the vehicle with no issues before removing it. Now in this car I have a p1382 that will not go away and the car cranks fine but as soon as the pedal is pressed it shuts off. I have changed the fuel pump and fuel injectors, still the same result. I have also tried 4 different distributors to no avail. I'm stuck scratching my head.

So this code comes up when the crankshaft position sensor needs to be replaced or the connector/wiring checked. Here is the location of the sensor:

P1382 - Cylinder Position (CYP) Sensor No Signal

Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.

That info is incorrect but thank you for your time. The cyp for this model is made in the distributor.

Hmm, I don't think I am wrong, please check the images again. I even checked 1997 model year.
