One afternoon, driving to work my car shut off going up a hill so I pulled over and tried to turn it back on it cranked but never turned on. So I let it cool down for about 10 to 15 minutes cranked it up and it started but died again a few minutes later. I got it home but ever since it hasn’t ran properly kept dying even in idling. I heard these cars have problems with the crankshaft sensor, but I don’t know the problem.

Yes, you are correct, the crankshaft sensor can cause this but also the failing fuel pump and a handful of other issues will create problems like this as well. What we need to do is find out which system is failing, ignition or fuel this video wills how you what you need to do once the engine has stalled.
