Hmm, bummer, can you upload a short video of the noise so I can tell for sure what is going on? It sounds like the timing belt was not installed correctly. If so here are the timing marks so you can double check it. You can do a compression test to confirm the failure.

The 2006 Renault Clio 1.4L (commonly the K4J 1.4 16-valve engine) is an interference engine. So f the timing belt let go you will have bent valves which is not good. Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.
