Car leaked fluid on the driveway

When I put in antifreeze and water in the radiator I noticed brown gunk in the cap. I drove a mile up the road and the temperature went up from 50 to 75% of the way to hot. Thermostat?

Hello,

The brown gunk is the concern, can you please look at the radiator to see if there is two coolers, one for transmission and one for the engine oil?

There are two lines. My mechanic went to look at it and he said there's a plug that goes in the side of the motor that the radiator attaches to that was not connected. He will let me know an update on what it is and I will relay his solution.
