Cylinders has no compression

The car has been hesitating for a while and leaking oil. No mechanics have been able to find the leak. When I took it to the shop this last time I was told that one of the cylinders has no compression. The mechanic recommended we replace the engine. When we asked if he could replace the parts that are failing her claimed it would cost more to do because of labor costs.

Hello,

Can you confirm the low or no compression? I would start here because you could have a broken valve spring which is cheap to fix comparative speaking. Here is a guide so you can pin point the cylinder then awe can go from there:
