High engine idle

When I start the car it idles high and stays that way in park, neutral and drive.

Hello,

The high idle could be due to a faulty idle air control valve (IAC). Over time the IAC will collect dirt and debris and cause erratic idle.
Sometimes cleaning out the IAC can improve the idle quality.
The idle can also be impacted by vacuum leak.
