Hi, I just replaced my idle air control but my car is still running at a high 1500 to 2000 rpm and I have test driven it, but will not allow me to go past thirty mph. I did have my check engine light witch indicated my IAC was bad so I replaced it. I have not found a vacuum leak anywhere. I normally fix my own car, but now I am baffled on what the issue could be. The catalytic converter is not clogged. Maybe the throttle position sensor is bad or possibly my throttle body? Any suggestions would help, thank you.

You replaced the IAC. Did you clean the passages? Clean the throttle body, also double check for vacuum leaks. Easy way to test hoses is to use hose pliers and crimp them off. Check the EVAP purge solenoid as well, they can fail open and cause a large leak.

Also, do a system reset. Disconnect the battery, short the two battery cables together for about twenty seconds, reinstall and start it up.
