I had a coolant leak. I replaced the radiator and expansion tank. It still leaked. I added k seal. The leak stopped. But the car still runs hot. I don't have a shroud over my fan. It also has a issue staying cranked. It struggles, and poots occasionally. It will eventually stay on but will cut off if not being given a little revving. What is wrong? Please help me!

Hi,

This could be related or two separate issues. The running hot will definitely because by no shroud so let's fix that first. Normally the vehicle will not shut off by just getting hot but if it gets too hot it could shut off. So again, let's fix the shroud and go from there.

If that fixes the running hot and it still cuts off we need to look at the crank sensor first.

Let me know what you find and we can go from there. Thanks

Thanks for your assistance. I will definitely get a shroud. After reading the article about the crankshaft my car has those same symptoms. I was also informed that my clutch fan and/or water pump may be bad and that's what's may be causing it to overheat. And ideas about the clutch fan or water pump suggestion?

Yes. They definitely can cause this. However, I would not do anything until you get the shroud on there because the air escapes when the shroud is not there and the fan is less efficient which means there is less air to cool the coolant and the engine will run hot.
