I have replaced the crank shaft position sensor. For 1 day it drove fine then it started to act up again. It has a obd 2 port but an obd 2 or obd 1 GM scanner wont connect. What scanner do I need? Where else so I look. I looked at the ground wires at the driver side kick panel. I cleaned them up. I dd not see any corrosion built up.

That is a transition year. It is an OBD2 connector but and OBD1 system. You need a professional scan tool to access that one.

I bought a cable and dc software to scan the car. Haven't had a chance to scan it yet. The car when started will die and restart itself over and over and over. It's as if you turned the car over with the key them shut it off and on and off.

The positive cable coming from the battery to the starter had a spot that was touching the block and had started grounding its self causing it to intermittently Turn on and off.

You're lucky it didn't burn to the ground in that situation. I find it hard to believe that to be the cause of intermittent engine stalling though.
