I have a BMW 318i 59! Plate. I was driving my car home one night and I was slowing down to change gear, put my clutch in and my engine would cut out however I could press start and it would come back to life, however this would happen even when I went to change from sixth gear to fifth etc, also it was juddering quite a bit when changing gear and also took a while to build up speed when accelerating. I have had a diagnostic done on the car no error codes were present. Could this be a clutch slipping causing this issue?

Hello,

It sounds like the throttle bore is dirty and the ECM loses correlation. I would disconnect the battery and then follow this giuse to see what happens.

Also has the engine been tuned lately? If not use OEM parts and follow this guide.

Please run down these guides and report back.

Cheers, Ken
