Hey,

The liftgate opens 100% and then instantly dips to just above the bottom so it’s about 20% open. This happens every time I try and open it, and I have to physically lift it and hold it up to take anything in or out. Is the liftgate battery low or is it a mechanical problem?

What happens on these is the two electrically driven tailgate actuators get weak and overheat and then fail and need to be replaced. This can happen by having too much weight on the tailgate or someone keep trying to stop it when it is actuating. Here is how the system works and the correct way to change out the liftgate actuators. Check out the images (below). Please upload pictures or videos in your response of any problems so we can see what to help you with.
