My car's air is not cooling as good as it was before. I discovered it has been over charged by my mechanic. We have decreased the pressure from 60psi to 40psi, yet it is still not giving me the desired cooling.

Good afternoon.

Pressure is not an indication of Freon level. You can have correct pressures but not enough Freon.

You will need to remove all Freon from the system, then add the exact amount called for on the tag under the hood.

The correct pressures are 25-30 lbs on the low side and the high side is two times outside temperature plus 15%.

This is with the compressor running.
