Overheating, giving a weird burning smell and the A/C will not blow cold air

My vehicle was making a popping and rattling noise but it has stopped. Now, when I start it it gives a weird noise, it’s overheating, giving a weird burning smell, and the A/C will not blow cold air. I have school and work. So please let me know what you think it is ASAP. Thank you in advance.

Welcome to 2CarPros.

Can you describe the noise you are hearing? Have you checked the accessory drive belt (serpentine belt)? When running, does the engine seem to run properly? Can you tell approximately where the burning smell is coming from?
