I'm changing out the seal on my crankshaft?

I'm changing out the seal on my crankshaft I removed the bolt but I can't get the pulley off i have a large gear pulley?

It sounds like you are replacing the front crankshaft main seal? You will need to remove the harmonic balancer to do the job and there is a special tool to bolt in place of the starter motor to hold the crankshaft while removing the center bolt for the balancer. here is how in the images below.
