Cannot shut the car off it will not allow me to turn to remove the key

I drove my kids to school and when I came home and put it in park when I tried to shut the car off the key only goes to the aaacc slot it does not go to the lock position and orders me to pull my key out. I cannot shut my car off and I cannot take my key out what do I do?

Hey Stacy,

This happens, the lock tumbler has worn out and needs replacement, this is a very common problem with these cars. If the engine is still running pull the fuel pump fuse and then disconnect the battery.
