Camshaft solenoid

I ran a computer on my car to tell me that my camshaft sensor solenoid was bad also known as VVP solenoid I ordered from RockAuto I got it today when I put it in the startup ran for 5 minutes then shut off. I'm not sure if the part is defective but what else could it be. Before I put the part in it wouldn't run. I broke the connector on top when putting an alternator in. Once I put the new part in today it started up and then it shut off 5 minutes later.

Hi,

Let's start with what code you had and then what codes you have now. Are they the same? What is the actual code so we can pull the diagnosis and see what else could cause this.

Unfortunately, there are many things that can cause a stall. Last can you clarify what you broke? Was it the connector for the solenoid or something else? Thanks
