1995 Cadillac STS starting disabled message

When I try to start my car it gives me a starting disabled message with the security light flashing. I don't know where to start to find the problem.

To diagnose, you could measure the resistance of the key cylinder (with key in) down at base of column. It is two small white wires that are in orange conduit. Rotate the cylinder and see if it opens in any range. The ignition cylinder is highest probability failure on this system. Just for curiosity, have you tried a second key?
