When I bought car, I was told rear-end differential was going out it was making a loud noise you only heard from inside but didn't affect the driving. Recently when I put it in gear it doesn't want to go. Runs, revs up and it will go slowly then it will kick into gear in a couple of minutes. I don't seem to have any leaks and I'm getting a message about my antilock brakes, and I think brake assist. Is this the rear end differential? Starts and drives good other than that think previously it had been a fleet vehicle.

Hi,

The differential wouldn't cause this to happen. Are there any new sounds associated with the new issue?

Also, the idea that you are getting a message about the ABS, something could be actuating the traction control unit and limiting power. If possible, could you let me know what codes were found when you scan the computer?

Also, let me know if it goes as soon as you place it in gear. You mentioned it will rev, so I just want to know if you rev it in park or neutral and then when in gear, if it goes or revs.

Let me know as much as you can. Also, let me know the condition of the transmission fluid and confirm the level.

Take care,

Joe
