Engine Cooling problem
1999 Cadillac SLS V8 Front Wheel Drive Automatic 115000 miles

replaced rad due to cranked tank. Flushed system now it over heats did not do this before

Are both the upper and lower radiator hoses hot to the touch at or near overheat? It could be a stuck closed thermostat. Quite possibly it could have blown head gaskets, this may explain the excessive pressure to crack a side tank. Determine if you have coolant flowing, both hoses hot to touch as mentioned earlier, then have it tested for combustion gases in the cooling system.
