86 caddy cimarron with a 2.8 V6. Recently just did both heads with rebuilt ones. Well upon starting, it will just crank and crank without turning over. I checked and made sure I had the distributor aligned right. Did the whole #1 cylinder at TDC. Align the rotor to #1. When getting TDC you could feel it coming up on the compression stroke. So I knew at the time there was compression. After much reading and attempts to fix the problem, I decided to check compression. I have no compression at any cylinder! When I turn the crank though it feels like it there is compression though. What did I do wrong? Please help!

You say the pistons are going up in down? Next thing to check is to take off the heads and make sure the valves are seated properly and holdling pressure. If that is good verify that the timing marks are properly lined up on the crank and cam shaft.

If those are good then either the heads are no good and warped, the headgasket is no good, or they are not bolted down properly.

That engine has 2 different length push rods, be sue the long ones are on the exhaust valves, short on intake. Sometimes they take a little bit to bleed down the lifters, until they do the comp can be all over the place
