Power Reclining Front Seatbacks Question

I have a 1992 Cadillac Fleetwood. 4.9L Engine. My question is that when the Seatback button on the passanger seat is pushed, the seat doesn't move. We've checked the motor, and it works fine. What else can be causing it? The gearbox? If so, how do I get to it? Do I need to take the entire seat out? Take the upholestry off? Any help will be appreciated. Thank you.

Almost sound like the switch is bad, if all of the other functions work I would look at the switch, test is and see if its failed

We pulled the motor out of the gearbox. Kept it connected to power. Pushed the switch and both ends rotated. This is why we're guessing gearbox.

Its been a while since ive seen that year caddy, I look at the newer ones all day, I think and im using the term loosely, you have to buy the motor as an assembly, I just looked on gm;s website and it looks that way but there was no price, so you would have to call your local dealer

thanks
