1994 Cadillac Fleetwood V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

i baught a 1994 fleetwood with no starter, I baught the starter and installed it, but when I turn the car it makes a click sound and all my lights shut off untill I release the ignition as if the battery was low, but I replased the battery and it still does the same thing, iam woundering if I hooked up the starter wrong or if there is some wires maybe burned up that need to be replased, there was only two wires to the starter, the power ond a small black one are those the only two, sorry if I asked to much but I would gladly appreciate it if u could help me out thanks. Should only be those two wires. Did you ask why the previous owner had removed the starter? Try jumpering the starter with a jumper wire to see if it engages. Also make sure your battery cables and terminals are clean & tight.
